Each Lumen light pod is packed with 6 bright LEDs with 6000K-7000K color temperature, the kelvin rating that is considered closest to daylight. But unlike some truck bed light kits that only supply enough light pods for the bed sides, with Lumen you get 8 compact 1.45” x 1.06” (37mm x 27mm) pods, 3 pods for each bed side wall and 2 for the front bed wall behind the cab, for total bed light coverage. The pods and push-button light switch are connected along a generous 26.5 ft. length of black sheathed wiring, so you can easily locate and space the pods for best light distribution in up to an 8 ft. truck bed. Each LED has a 150 degree beam angle, so whether you mount the pods parallel to the bed walls or under the bed rails, you’ll get the same brilliant and thorough illumination. 3M adhesive backing makes light pod mounting easy, but 32 screws are also supplied and each pod has 4 screw tabs if you prefer that method of installation. And since all 8 light pods combined draw less than 1 amp, you’ll be able to leave them on for extended periods of time without fear of draining your battery.
We recommend that the push-button on/off switch be installed on the inside of the bed wall adjacent to the tailgate with 12V power sourced at the tail lamp wiring, but the switch can also be located in the cab if you choose to extend the harness by splicing in additional wiring. The switch is also 3M adhesive backed to facilitate installation as are the 12 wire clips/hooks, which are provided to simplify neat and secure wire routing. Detailed, illustrated instructions are supplied to guide you through the easy installation.
